Sooo Sooo Comfy... Jeans?

AG Stevie Skinny - Anthropologie.com
"Anthropologie's AG Stevie"

Do you ever wish you had a pair of jeans that felt so soft and comfy you felt like you were wearing your favorite PJs? Well, AG jeans has made your wish come true. They have designed a pair of jeans that are soft to the touch, stretchy, dark and great looking. They fit snug but do not look like they are cutting off your circulation and they move and stretch when you do plus they are not cut so low in the back that every time you sit down your unmentionables show. They are called The Stevie slim straight and they come in two washes.  I may have to go back and get the other one because I will be wearing these everyday. Go try a pair on and tell me what you think.

Note.. the inseam on these was 31".. I am 5"7 and they were perfect for me if you are vertically challenged.. Saks has a similar pair called the Stilt cigarette jean that have a 30" inseam.

J.Crew

Hi everyone!

Sorry i haven't posted in a while... but i have been so busy with preseason field hockey and getting ready for school that shopping (unfortunately) has had to take a back-seat for a while. But, i just got my license last week!!! .. so now i can shop whenever it is convenient to me! So i went to the Towson Town mall the other day, and to my surprise, J.Crew (one of my faves) is now an ALL WOMEN'S store!! There is no more men's section which means tons more merchandise to check out. I bought a few cute tees for fall, like this one which comes in a ton of cute colors. There was also a whole wall of sale clothing just waiting to be bought. So check it out!

Off to shop! (really, i am)

Down the Ocean, Hon.

We just got back from our yearly trip to Bethany Beach, Delaware. It was a stellar week as far as the weather goes.. low humidity, sunny skies and the waves were quite calm.  Therefore many hours were spent oceanside reading...I read three books last week. The first one I have to mention is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Steve and I both were captivated by this book and could not put it down. We each read it in a day. Steve is now on the third installment in the series.. there will not be another one because unfortunately the Danish author Stieg Larsson passed away suddenly at the young age of 50 after writing the third book. Another good beach read... that is not as popular "One Day" about a 20 year relationship between two people that meet one day after graduation from college and spend 24 hours together and then go their separate ways but keep in touch with letters and phone calls and visits. Every chapter in the book starts with July 15 of a different year and what is happening in their lives on that day. It made me laugh out loud and cry and I could not put it down.

We had to have cocktail hour on the beach and what better way to cool off than a margarita on ice. But not just any margarita, we had skinny girl margaritas. They were delicious and only 100 calories. I brought three bottles with me from home. Which, I had to search far and wide for. They are sold out almost everywhere. Beltway Liquors had a few cases there last week.. I hope they still have more because I have company coming this weekend.

We always have a girls day out midweek, with my mother, Sandy, my sister, Adele and Amanda and her friend, Payton. We go to lunch in Rehobeth Delaware and then to the outlets there. Mom loves The Ralph Lauren Outlet and Amanda, Adele, Payton and I go to J.Crew. This year they had some great tee shirts and cordoroy jeans on sale. I also found an adorable black and white leopard print cotton blouse and a cotton jersey boyfriend jacket in black. Amanda and Payton found neon colored skinny flower belts on sale that were a steal. Payton found a great little jersey print one shoulder dress at BCBG that she wore that night out for sushi.

We stopped on the way back at Prime Outlets to see if there was anything we missed and I found a great little wallet to fit in my smaller purses that was 50% off the discounted price and we were given a 20% off coupon when we entered the store!  And Amanda got an adorable "poppy" wristlet in gold with the same discounts.  Steve.. who never buys himself anything bought a new credit card holder. Everything was so reasonably priced it was hard not to find something. Under Armour outlet is there as well and they had some great pieces that you never see discounted anywhere. So check it out.

Gotta go shopping.

Sale Alert!

Hey Everyone!

I just got home from the Shops at Kenilworth... and i most definitely have some news to report! My mom and i stopped by South Moon Under (one of my faves!) looking for a few birthday gifts, and we were pleasantly surprised to discover they were having a sale... and not just any sale, a huge sale! If you are a regular at South Moon you would know that usually their sale merchandise can be found in the back corner of the store, but not at this sale! Almost half of their clothes and accessories are on sale right in the front of the store. And guess what? All sale merchandise is an extra 25% off! Of course we had to put the birthday shopping on the back-burner and check out some clothes for ourselves...I got an awesome jumpsuit!! They have tons of cute party dresses and fun tops on sale.. and of course shoes and other accessories just waiting to be tried on. And if you just can't bring yourself to venture out into the heat, check out their website for tons of other sale merchandise. But you better hurry before its all gone!

"You Have to go Shopping!"

"You Have to go Shopping!" Those are words I have never heard come out of my husband's mouth... and he didn't mean food shopping when he said them. Translation... you need to go out to the stores and do research for your blog. Well what better day to do it than the first day of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. With Nordstrom being the only high end department store we have left in the Baltimore area it should be included in a blog about Baltimore shopping, don't you think?

But I am a little hesitant at the thought of going there today. A couple of weeks ago I received the catalog in the mail and I was completely and utterly unimpressed with just about all that was in it. Nevertheless, I still went to Nordstrom and had my "private tour behind the curtains" of the women's shoe department and the handbags and after that I had enough. There was nothing I had to purchase immediately. Maybe it's the fact that the annual anniversary sale always falls in mid July reminding me that it's the end of summer. Or, maybe it's because I find it hard to be excited about fall accessories and clothes when temperatures are soaring above the 95 degree mark with humidity levels that make your glasses fog up when you get out of your car.

For that reason I decided I would look online first... there were a couple of items that caught my eye... these Donald Pliner Boots, this Joie paisley top and these workout pants from Nike are a great deal .  Okay maybe I will go to the sale... just for research. :)

Gotta go shop!!

O! O! O! O! O! MG!

Shortly after writing last nights blog, I had to run to the grocery store to pick up something and what do I see right in front of me on the newstand... The Oprah magazine is The Big Deals Issue! That was an AHA moment for me. So, of course I read it from cover to cover last night until 1 am and now I can let you in on what I thought was not to be missed.

Recently on a trip to New York I was walking past a woman waiting for a taxi at The New York Palace. It was a cool summer day and she was dressed perfectly and looked so comfortable. She was wearing a crisp white blouse and cropped pants, I think they were grey or black or denim whatever... But what I noticed the most was her adorable red patent flats. I spent the day looking for the perfect pair at a reasonable price. I did find one pair but they were Prada and they were a lot of money just for red flats. In the Oprah issue first on the "O" List.. what do I find? Red patent ballet flats at 50% OFF at lagarconne.com with code OPRAH. They are not up yet.. they go on sale tonight at 12:01 AM. I may have to stay up late again tonight and grab a pair.

My favorite summer tinted moisturizer is also in the "O" list. It's Laura Mercier with an spf 20.. on July 18 at lauramercier.com they are running a special at 25% off. My favorite place usually to pick this up is at Sephora they have a kit with all of this
- 1.0 oz Foundation Primer (Step 1)
- 1.0 oz Tinted Moisturizer (Step 2)
- 0.21 oz Undercover Pot Shade #3 (Step 3 and 4)
- Secret Camouflage Brush
- Camouflage Powder Brush
- Velour Puff
- Egg-shaped Sponge
Here is the link for that...http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P214230&categoryId=C12210

I usually pick this up at the beginning of the summer and the concealer lasts for at least six months.

Also in the issue..page 185..."Score"... your guide to a great deal on everything from airfare to zucchini.. great secrets on how to save for lots of different things. But I would be a very bad shopping blogger if I didn't share with you the great finds you can get on your lunch break everyday from these websites... if you don't know of them already....gilt.com, ruelala.com, ideeli.com and one Oprah did not mention..hautelook.com. They are members only sample sales and you can snag all kinds of designer duds for women, kids and the men. Gilt even has great deals on vacations. (O readers can get immediate membership to Rue La La by going to Ruelala.com/oprah)

I think that's a good start for now.
